Robert Kinder

Robert Kinder was born 13 November 1812 in Staleybridge, Cheshire England to Hugh and Betty Howard Kinder.  He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 3 November 1849 in Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire, England.  He married Sally Buckley abt 1836.  He died 13 June 1883 supposedly in Deseret, Millard, Utah.  No headstone or record of burial in Deseret.

Sally / Sarah Buckley

Sally or Sarah Buckley was born 15 December 1810 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England.  She married Robert Kinder abt. 1836 and they raised a family of five children.  She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  17 December 1849 in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire, England.  She immigrated to the United States (year unknown) and died 13 January 1883 supposedly in Deseret, Millard, Utah.  No headstone or record known in Deseret. 

Most records were recorded as Sally however some early records of the Ashton Branch of the Manchester Conference (British film #87028, Item #17, Page 21, #45) recorded her name as Sarah Buckley Kinder.

William Kinder

William Kinder was born in September 1840 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England, UK to Robert and Sally Kinder.  


He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 2 Mar 1857.  He joined the military 30 May 1859 according to LDS Church records of the Manchester Conference. (British film #87028, Item #17, page 28.)


Between 1859 and 1864 William married Ellen Bradley of England.  Unknown place and date of marriage.  They immigrated to the United States, living in New York where their first child, Esther Kinder, was born abt 1864.  Daughter Lucy Kinder was born 21 December 1870, in Victor, Ontario, New York, United States.

1870 Moroni, Juab, Utah , United States age 28 with his wife and daughter, Esther.  His brother John Henry and family live in Moroni also.
1880 Stockport, Columbia, New York, United States with his family and his parents.


William died 26 Feb 1887 possibly in New York.  Not proven.

Ellen Bradley Kinder

Ellen Bradley was born in February, 1831 in England.  Place and Parents are unknown to me at this time.


After William's death Ellen lived in Ghent, Columbia, New York according to the 1900 census.   In 1910 she lived in Schenectady Ward 13, Schenectady, New York with her daughter Lucy and her family.


Ellen died between 1910 and 1920.  She is not listed in the 1920 census with her daughter and family.  Further research is needed.

Lucy Kinder

Lucy Kinder was born about 1843 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England to Robert and Sally Kinder.  She is the middle of the five children they have.

I don't have any other information for her.  I would appreciate any information you have for Lucy.

Betty Kinder

Betty Kinder was born on 22 September 1847 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England to Robert and Sally Kinder.  She is a twin to Mary Kinder.

Mary Kinder was born 22 September 1847
